5. Dealership Relationships
Western Vista has built relationships with most major auto dealerships in Wyoming and some in northern Colorado. This means you can shop for your vehicle and close the deal right at the dealership with Credit Union financing! 6. Go shopping for your dream vehicle...but be careful out there!
By knowing how much you want to pay for your vehicle, how much your payments and interest rate will be, and that you are pre-approved for Credit Union financing you can negotiate your auto deal with confidence.
Do beware of the heavily advertised 0% to 1.9% APR dealer rates. Not only do these special rates most often require 12 to 24 month repayment plans (meaning a sky-high monthly payment for you), they also prohibit you from taking any rebate offer.
By taking the dealer rebate and applying it to the cost of the vehicle, you are reducing the amount you are financing. Combined with your low Credit Union rate your overall costs are lower than if you had financed at the lower rate. You save money and come out the winner!
7. Refinancing Options
If you have an existing auto loan with a high interest rate you might benefit from refinancing with a new loan from Western Vista FCU. Determine how much you owe on the vehicle, what rate you are paying now, the existing term and then re-calculate your payment at the current low rate.
