1. WHY AM I RECEIVING A NEW DEBIT CARD? We are updating our debit cards to provide enhanced features, improved security, and a better overall experience.
  2. WHEN WILL MY NEW DEBIT CARD ARRIVE?  Your new card will arrive in late April/early May.
  3. WHAT DOES THIS DEBIT CARD OFFER THAT MY OLD CARD DID NOT?
    Tap to Pay—Your new card is contactless. It contains a special computer chip that enables you to “tap” your card at any ATM/Point of Sale (store) terminal with the contactless symbol. Contactless cards help prevent fraud caused by skimming devices placed on ATMs and other terminals.
  4. WILL I HAVE THE SAME CARD NUMBER? No; your new card comes with a new card number. For security purposes, joint cardholders will receive a unique card number. All transactions on an account will be consolidated on the account statement.
  5. WILL MY PIN STAY THE SAME? Please choose a unique PIN number that you can remember. Do NOT write it on the back of the card. To set your pin, call 888-886-0083 or visit your nearest Western Vista Credit Union branch.
  6. WILL MY CARD LOOK THE SAME? No; all Western Vista debit cards have a brand-new look!
  7. CAN I CONTINUE USING MY OLD CARD? No; your old card will not work after May 6, 2025.
  8. I HAVE RECURRING MONTHLY/RECURRING PAYMENTS TIED TO MY DEBIT CARD. DO I NEED TO UPDATE MY INFORMATION WITH THE MERCHANT?  Yes; you must update your card information to re-establish the recurring payment.
  9. ARE THERE INTERNATIONAL FEES FOR FOREIGN TRANSACTIONS? Yes; for transactions that are initiated in a foreign currency or occur in a foreign country and are initiated in U.S. Dollars, you will be charged 0.80% of the final settlement amount.
  10. I DIDN’T RECEIVE A NEW CARD. WHAT DO I DO? Double-check your mail—especially mail that arrived at the end of April/beginning of May. If you haven’t received a card by May 6, 2025, please notify us by calling or texting 1-800-310-2197.
  11. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DEBIT CARD IS LOST/STOLEN/DAMAGED IN THE MAIL? Call or text 1-800-310-2197 or stop by your nearest branch and we will be happy to assist you!
  12. DO YOU OFFER BUSINESS DEBIT CARDS? Yes! Western Vista Credit Union offers two types of business accounts: Vantage+ Checking and Vantage Checking. Both accounts offer a debit card.
  13. CAN I STILL USE MY CARD WITH NO FEES AT CO-OP ATMS? Yes; there are more than 30,000 co-op ATMs and 5,000 co-op branches available to you.
  14. AM I ABLE TO GET A REPLACEMENT CARD AT MY LOCAL BRANCH? Yes; if there is an issue with your card, we can provide one instantly if you visit a branch in person.
  15. CAN I USE MY CARD IN MOBILE WALLETS SUCH AS APPLE PAY AND GOOGLE PAY? Mobile wallets are coming soon!
