Each year, Western Vista Credit Union offers two $1000 scholarships to members in our community who are seeking to further their education.
Applicants to the Western Vista Scholarship Program must be:
- Current members of Western Vista Credit Union in good standing. Membership must be established at least 30 days before application submission. Applicants must be the primary account holder of their account to be eligible.
- High school seniors or current undergraduates who plan to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
Requirements
- Deadline: April 1, 2026. Submit all materials by the deadline. Late entries will not be considered.
- Complete the application in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
- Submit your most recent academic transcript, whether it be from a high school, college, university or trade school. Current college freshmen should submit college and high school transcripts.
- Copy of ACT and/or SAT scores if applicable.
- Essay (600-750 words) addressing the 2026 topic: Integrity, Service, Trustworthiness, and Accountability are core values at Western Vista Credit Union. Choose one of these values and share a real-life example of how you have demonstrated it in your school, workplace, or community.
Why is this value important to you, and how do you plan to carry it forward in your future education and career? - A high-resolution digital image; file size should be at least 1 MB. Image may be used in publicity materials for selected winners. Please upload a photo with the application materials.
All scholarship entries are confidential and will only be viewed by the Western Vista Scholarship Committee. Once you have received a scholarship, you are no longer eligible in future years.
